Rev. Sharon Stanley, Executive Director of Fresno Interdenominational Ministries, Inc. (FIRM), thanks God & the supporting churches such as SVPC that they have helped place the first 800 Hmong refugees of the anticipated total of 2,500 projected to arrive in Fresno before the end of March '04. Sharon asks for prayers for the process of trust building to develop between the new refugees & the Fresno community. It is essential that this process be based on the love of Christ as Christians within the host Hmong congregations & Fresno area churches in general extend acts of hospitality & welcome. FIRM has already begun educational programs of employment search, health & English language. Pray that these programs effectively meet the needs of our newest neighbors.
